Answer

Students and Faculty have two different usernames and passwords.  Only a Librarian has the authority to change passwords, however, they can only change your network password or email password -- these are the same.

The Librarian is unable to change MySSU passwords.  This must be done by University Information Services or UIS. When your MySSU account is created the default password is your birth date in this format YYYYMMDD.  After you log into MySSU for the first time we recommend you change your password to prevent unauthorized access.

Librarians are generally available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm.  If a Librarian is not at the reference desk during these hours the Reference Assistant can locate one.  Remember, Librarians are not on duty during the weekend, and we CAN NOT change passwords over the phone.  You must have your SSU ID card to have your password changed.
